The amount I will be expected to earn would be between £38,000 to £68,454.  The progression route for me would be college, to get a foot in I would need to ask around to get experience in studio work and the different ways for promotion would be to ask around, mention on social media wither people are looking for music producers or not, and making leaflets and putting them through peoples doors.

1 famous music producer is Dr. Dre, his journey as a music producer began with his early days with N.W.A where he played a crucial role in shaping the group’s sound. After leaving N.W.A, Dre launched a successful solo career with his debut album “The Chronic” in 1992, which introduced the “G-funk” production style. This style was characterized by plodding tempos, synth washes and a heavy reliance on 1970s funk records. Dre’s production work has been credited with launching the careers of many artists, including Eminem and 50 Cent.

Another famous music producer is Rick Rubin, he co-founded Def Jam Recordings, which played a pivotal role in popularizing hip-hop and introducing the genre to the mainstream. His production style, characterized by stripped-down beats and minimalist arrangements, revolutionized the hip-hop genre and earned him widespread acclaim. Rubin’s work with artists like the Beastie Boys, LL Cool J and Run-DMC showcased his ability to blend different genres into cohesive tracks. His contributions have reshaped individual artists and genres as aa whole, ensuring his mark will echo throughout music history for years to come.

The last famous music producer is Max Martin, his journey as a music producer began in the late 1990s, marked by his song writing credits on hit singles that defined the era. His breakthrough came with Britney Spears’ “Baby one more time”, which became a globe phenomenon and set the stage for his successful career. Martin’s production skills were evident in his work with the Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and other major artists, earning him a reputation as a hit-making machine. His influence expands beyond the charts, as he has been a key figure in shaping the sound of contemporary pop music and inspiring generations of artists and producers.

Artefacts for inclusion

The first artefact I will be choosing is, the group studio test I did in college that was the song Au Pays Due Cocaine by Geese, with this artefact it relates to music producers as we are in the studio getting tested on our skills and doing in depended work and recording all the different instruments by ourselves like drums guitars and vocals which is the main instruments we record in college, and vocals of course. The Knowledge and skills I gained and gaining from the studio work in college will be relevant for the music producer as by doing this t gives me a bit of experience in the studios and gives me an idea of what to expect for future.

The second artefact I will be choosing is, another group project in college I did with a group in college which is This is the Life by Amy McDonald, this project is also relevant to the music producer as I’m getting experience in the studios with setting up the mixing desk and setting up the mics for different instruments. The skills and knowledge that will help me on my way is how to set up the mic for the different instruments as there is different mics to use for different instruments and different mic techniques as well, also my skill to work with other people as well in the studio when they are playing and I’m talking to them through talkback.

The last artefact I will be choosing is, yet another studio project in college which is Dakota by Stereophonics which I did in NQ my first year of college. I have chosen this as its in relation to the music producer role. Using this project as evidence will prove my skills with recording live music in the studios and the ability to achieve it well. It will also reflect on my knowledge I know with the studio work as I have had a lot of experience with the recording sides of things, with this studio project it will also prove I know how to set up the cables with the instruments for example the correct mics to use for different instrument and good cable management as well. Letting the player play in a conferrable environment and making them feel like they are in a safe place.
